After taking measurements at three different locations in Montana for twenty months and analyzing the resultant data the best site was chosen. The chosen site is in the Class 6 range, showing outstanding (and consistent) wind speeds between 18 and 19 mph. The planned wind farm will be six miles south of Judith Gap, Wheatland County, Montana, USA. The coordinates are E -109° 46’; N 46° 35’. Montana Map showing the site.

The total land area required has been secured for the purposes of exploration with a view to installation of wind turbines at a later date. One of the sections belongs to the State of Montana (school trust land) where arrangements have been made with the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, and the rest of the land belongs to private landowners. All the landowners are to share the profits from the wind farm by way of lease agreements. Judith Gap Overview

A 230kV power line crosses the chosen site and this company has been guaranteed first place to allow grid connection up to a capacity of 180MW. Interconnection studies by the local utility NorthWestern Energy have been completed. The Generation Interconnection Agreement is expected to be produced and approved early in 2003.

Quotations have been invited from the leading wind turbine manufacturers (including NEG Micon, Vestas, Nordex, Bonus, and GE Wind) to ensure that delivery of wind turbines which meet the site specific meteorological requirements can be arranged and installed within the required timeframe.

All environmental impact concerns have to be addressed to ensure that all visual and noise issues are investigated and designed out if possible.

To ensure that all concerns are addressed we are communicating with all the relevant authorities...
